# About Andi AI

We started building Andi in 2021, connecting language models to the internet for search nearly two years before ChatGPT existed. We saw that search was getting worse, not better: results buried in ads and SEO spam, AI chatbots hallucinating confidently, and most products just bolting language models onto broken results. So we built something new from scratch.

## The Technology

Andi is powered by **Trantora**, our AI search index named after Asimov's planet Trantor and its Galactic Library. Trantora analyzes the meaning and credibility of web content at ingestion, scoring billions of pages before you ever search. It doesn't match keywords. It understands documents.

This is what makes Andi different. We don't rely on Google or Bing results. Trantora extracts facts to build a knowledge graph from top sources, then verifies the information before answering. The result: **87% accuracy** on independent search benchmarks — [read more](/blogs/accuracy-matters).
